There's something special about the smell of coal smoke and the whistle of a steam engine — Hesper-Mabel Steam Engine Days is one of Southeast Minnesota's great fall traditions, and Jack Hedin will be walking the parade route on Sunday, September 13 to celebrate it with you. It's the kind of hands-on, real history that reminds us why this region is worth showing up for. Line-up is at 12:30 p.m., parade steps off at 1:00.
